The Royal Crest Room- A Royal Experience!

The Royal Crest Room is one of the most beautiful venues I photographed to date.

As a wedding photographer, I’m always taking note of the location where I will be shooting at. One of the first things I do after a client books with me is to check out the venue that they will be having the ceremony at, whether it be in person or a virtual tour. One of the best ones I have had the pleasure of shooting at has been The Royal Crest Room! In this venue review, I’m going to tell you why!

Entry Archway toward the ceremony location.

First off, the Royal Crest Room is situated in beautiful St. Cloud, Florida. The area is absolutely lovely, and the venue makes full use of that beauty. It is actually a golf country club that also doubles as a wedding venue!

The main feature of the venue is of course the ceremony area. IT is a simple yet styling white structure with a stone foundation set in the shade of some trees that block out direct sunlight when the sun begins to set, as you can see in the above photos. There is a stone pathway that runs down the center and flanked on either side by rows of white chairs. I love that it is set in the shade, as in Florida, it is a MUST! Weddings in Florida can be brutal, as the sun can still beat down hot, even in October, so I’m glad that they thought about that!

The main reception hall is an elegant white with wood floors and regally decorated tables with a main dance floor in the center, but can be customized to taste!

The main reception hall is also really nice! It is a simple, yet elegant room, large enough to comfortably accommodate over 70 guests, and features a reasonably low but not too low ceiling, which affords some great opportunity for bounce flash. There is also space for a small dj booth as well.

Inside the bridal suite is a large mirror which allows for creative portraits such as these!

The bridal suite is connected to the reception hall, and is a fairly small room that does house a large 3 segmented mirror which is great for bride getting ready photos. There is also a large cabinet that you can hang the dress from, or store items while getting dressed. I do wish the room was slightly bigger and had some windows as well, as it takes using off camera flash to make the most out of it. Other than that though, I really don’t have any complaints!

Outside next the the ceremony section is the cocktail area. Guests can quickly transition from ceremony to relaxing on cocktails and mocktails while the wedding party can sneak away and do some portaits!

Look, they have a Superman phone booth!

Probably my favorite part of the entire venue is the actual golf course! IT starts out with a golf cart ride out into the course itself, where you ride until you get to a stone bridge that is just perfect for portraits at sunset. The next spot is a red telephone booth, which can be used for all sorts of creative portrait ideas (i know, I opted for the most cliche one, the superman pose). Even shots done out on the actual golf green itself lends nicely to newlyweds, as it reinforces the newness of their union.

The sparkler exit at the end of the night was spectacular!

Last but not least was the venue’s attention to detail and safety. They did a sparkler exit but made sure to go over detailed safety instructions first. This made the sparkler exit run so smoothly that we were able to do 2 takes!

The Royal Crest Room is a very simple yet beautiful venue that has a lot to offer any wedding couples looking for elegance without spending a fortune. It offers a variety of environments that will meet the needs of most couples, and the reception hall can be customized to taste. The staff are all very professional, and dedicated to making sure things run smoothly and safely. I definitely enjoyed shooting at The Royal Crest Room, and cannot wait to shoot there again!
